Why Seek Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment programs like our’s, allow individuals in need of addiction-related treatment to receive 24-hour care designed to meet their specific needs. At residential treatment centers, individuals typically have access to a higher level of care than can be provided through individual, family, or group therapy alone.
There are many different levels of care available for people seeking substance abuse treatment. There are outpatient care programs, intensive outpatient programs, inpatient programs, residential treatment, group therapy and support meetings.
People choose to go to residential treatment for a variety of issues. However, there are certain struggles that almost always call for or are better served by a residential level of care.
Certain factors may make residential treatment a more appropriate fit:
Lack of adequate supports at home or in the community
Previous experience with lower levels of care with little or no symptom relief
Experienced a relapse after previous treatment
Concerns about exposure to triggers or being able to maintain treatment while remaining at home
Seeking treatment for your substance abuse disorder is vital to your recovery. A recent study showed that people who did not try to get help for their addiction were less likely to make it beyond the three-year mark in sobriety and were more likely to relapse. The same study also showed that 62% of those who received professional help at a residential treatment facility remained in recovery for three years or more after treatment. Also, 57% of those who made it to the three-year mark remained substance-free for many more years. This study and many others show that seeking professional treatment is vital to success in recovery and continued sobriety.
